EXTRA MURAL PROGRAMME
Learners are encouraged to participate in extra-mural activities in the belief that this is an essential aspect of their overall education, and complementary to their academic development, both of which are essential in preparing our learners for life. Rand Park High is committed to an education that extends beyond the confines of the classroom.
The school offers a wide variety of extra-mural activities. The conventional sports are offered as well as cultural activities and various societies and outdoor clubs. An extra-mural programme detailing all the activities that are on offer is issued at the beginning of each term. Fixture lists are included in the school newsletter and/or posted on the D6 School Communicator App.
It is a serious offence not to attend practices, games and competitions against other schools without having informed the educator-in-charge, who needs time to find a replacement.
Grade 8 and 9 learners are also expected to support specified major sporting or cultural events.
Learners should take part in at least one activity per term and, having committed themselves to participate in that activity for the full season, they must honour that commitment.
When representing the school, learners must at all times conduct themselves with propriety, dignity and good sportsmanship.
HOUSE SYSTEM
Each learner is allocated to a House when they join Rand Park High School. They are encouraged to support their houses either by participating in Inter-House competitions or as spectators.
Named after birds, the Houses are as follows:
| Bishop | Red |
| Loerie | Green |
| Martin | Blue |
| Shrike | Yellow |
SPORTS UNIFORM
Details regarding uniform requirements will be given by the coaches of the respective sports.
Any learner chosen to represent the school must wear the correct uniform.
The School’s Physical Education (PE) kit is normally used for sports training across all sports.
Do more than belong: participate.
Do more than care: help.
Do more than believe: practise.
Do more than be fair, be kind.
Do more than forgive: forget.
Do more than dream: work.
